Coma (1978)
Country: US
Technical: col 113m
Director: Michael Crichton
Cast: Geneviève Bujold, Michael Douglas, Richard Widmark
Synopsis:
A woman investigating unfortunate deaths under anaesthetic at a hospital uncovers disquieting evidence of a high-level conspiracy to provide donor organs - at a price.
Review:
Wonderfully tense, old-fashioned (i.e. trimmed of all fat) 'nobody will believe me' thriller, well played, though not always sympathetically, by the underused Bujold, and skilfully directed by Crichton who relishes the long empty corridors and impassive bureaucrats/scientists.
