Dr. Phibes Rises Again (1972)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: DeLuxe 89m
Director: Robert Fuest
Cast: Vincent Price, Robert Quarry, Valli Kemp, Fiona Lewis, Peter Cushing, Peter Jeffrey

Synopsis:

Phibes is awakened by a full moon to discover his house destroyed, his secret scrolls of life, and any hope of resurrecting his wife, gone. He sets off with his assistant to trace their whereabouts, dispatching along the way any so unfortunate as to have come into contact with them.

Review:

Faster-paced and more fun than the original, this is less constrained by the ritual nature of the earlier murders and there is zest in the supporting playing, that of Peter Jeffrey in particular. The 'Turn of the Screw' murder, the joke hardly picked up by the camera but left to the observance of the viewer, is the highlight. Price's incantations go on a bit.
