Evolution (2015)

£0.00

Country: FR/BEL/SP
Technical: col/2.35:1 81m
Director: Lucile Hadzihalilovic
Cast: Max Brebant, Roxane Duran, Julie-Marie Parmentier

Synopsis:

A boy living with his mother on a volcanic island becomes convinced he has seen a body on the seabed near the shore, but their search only manages to bring back a star fish. Before long he finds himself the subject, along with other boys, of curious experiments at the local clinic, conducted by the women of the village who have developed oddly mermaid-like characteristics.

Review:

One of those films that is far easier to synopsize than make sense of, this achieves some striking images but its lack of dialogue and contextualization is ultimately soporific.
