For thirty years actor Leon Vitali shadows director Stanley Kubrick to the extent that he becomes his unsung factotum, supervising diverse aspects of his productions and administering his archive of documents, props and prints.

Review:

An extraordinary portrait, not of Kubrick or even Kubrick's oeuvre, but of a man who, though perfectly capable of achieving success as an actor, chose to sacrifice his ego on the altar of his idol's genius. That his admiration can be seen to be justified to a degree by the evidence of his films, partially quoted here, does not diminish one's awe on learning to what limited extent he was recognised for his stewardship, or one's shock in beholding the pale shade of a human being to which he has been reduced.
