Satan's Skin (1971)
(Blood on Satan's Claw)
Country: GB
Technical: col 97m
Director: Piers Haggard
Cast: Patrick Wymark, Linda Hayden, Michele Dotrice
Synopsis:
A 17th century English village is the setting for strange events: a farmer unearths a skull with one eye, hands become furred claws, and the children seem possessed of the devil.
Review:
Tacky Brit horror, with Wymark apparently reprising Price's role in The Witchfinder General. The difference here is that devilry does indeed appear to be at work, and so dramatic tension is largely sacrificed to repulsiveness on both sides.
