Babysitter (2022)

£0.00

Country: CAN/FR
Technical: col 87m
Director: Monia Chokri
Cast: Monia Chokri, Patrick Hivon, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Steve Laplante

Synopsis:

A Montreal engineer is suspended for drunkenly kissing a TV reporter and embarks on a writing project under the guidance of his 'woke' brother to account for his innate misogyny and excuse himself. Meanwhile, the libidos of both his wife and brother are no less screwed up, and it takes the no-nonsense directness of their babysitter to... rectify matters?

Review:

Formally flamboyant and audacious in its visualization of men's shallow enthralment to the female form, Chokri's Ozon fest inevitably (?) turns its male characters into stuttering caricatures while keeping all its sensibilities alive through the women. At least it airs the issues somewhat before lapsing into commonplaces such as the male rape by dildo (so you know what it's like), lesbian coupling (because you know what I need) and Lolitas on roller blades (the next impudent generation of nymphets).
