Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 89m
Director: Stephen Herek
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, George Carlin
Synopsis:
Two Californian high school dunderheads must pass their history project or they will be separated and sent to different schools. So they accept the offer of a time machine to gather historical characters so that their report will be the most excellent report ever.
Review:
This film is beyond criticism: it's lame, and that is the point. It takes the concept of Linklater's slackers and turns it into something sublimely endearing, while rejoicing in presenting history for morons. The game antics of Reeves and Winter help a lot. A sequel inevitably followed which was a bit saggier.
