Blackbeard the Pirate (1952)
Country: US
Technical: col 99m
Director: Raoul Walsh
Cast: Robert Newton, Linda Darnell, William Bendix, Keith Andes, Torin Thatcher
Synopsis:
A ship's surgeon finds himself serving under the sail of the infamous Blackbeard.
Review:
Full-blooded (i.e. hammy) but forgettable (aren't they all?) piece of 'shiver-me-timbering' with Walsh keeping a firm grip on the action elements. Still, evidence of the studio (RKO) giving way to a certain loss of class in the general conception and handling of the production.
