Blue Steel (1990)
Country: US
Technical: col 102m
Director: Kathryn Bigelow
Cast: Jamie Lee Curtis, Ron Silver, Clancy Brown
Synopsis:
A rookie police officer is stalked by a commodities trader so in need of cheap thrills that he commits murders implicating her.
Review:
Buffed-up, fetishized thriller which is directed and fronted by women but otherwise feels like a throwback to Dirty Harry. The subtext seems to be that as a cop you have to get over your first kill by offing your second perpetrator. How convenient that he turns out to be a sleazeball like Silver.
