When a scheming lawyer evicts a family from their home because of the absence of a will bequeathing it to them, lilliputian creatures scratching a living beneath the floorboards play their part in thwarting his dastardly plans.
Review:
Not dissimilar to Honey I Shrunk the Kids in its appeal, though based on an earlier source novel, this amiable children's feature spends a little time establishing the parameters of its particular universe before launching into a duel of wits fraught with all manner of threatened mayhem. Considerable allowance has to be made for the various lucky escapes, naturally enough, but the climactic assembly of thousands of borrowers in a stock cupboard stretches credibility too far. Like The Witches, this is ultimately preferable to the US equivalent, with its transplanted American villain and Nick Park-like cameos by a bobby and a pest controller. When it comes to animation, however, Toy Story still has it.
