The Black Windmill (1974)
Country: GB/FR
Technical: col/scope 106m
Director: Don Siegel
Cast: Michael Caine, Janet Suzman, Joseph O'Conor, Donald Pleasence, Delphine Seyrig
Synopsis:
A British agent finds himself on his own when his son is kidnapped and held to ransom.
Review:
Ho-hum espionage thriller, positively crammed with good actors but with an air of weariness about it. Caine gives one of his blank, Carter-esque, performances, and the muddled script is full of Hitchcockian borrowings. I suspect today's audiences will find even the 'undemanding fun' held out by Halliwell somewhat elusive now.
