One can imagine Miss Coppola as being well placed to tap into the mindset of this narcissistic, materialistic, arrogant bunch of kids, who even after they have been caught and sentenced contrive to harness the media to their advantage: if you want to sit with your lip curled for ninety minutes, this is the film for you. The alternative question is: do we care what need drives these pampered, even if on some level neglected, children, with their cellphones and their drugs, to feel somehow validated, provided they are seen with the right kind of tat, when the other half of the planet is starving? Based on a real case or not, this is a repetitive and depressing experience.
