The Bridge (2011-18)
(Bron/Broen)
Country: SV/DK/GER
Technical: col/1.78:1 TV Series: 4 seasons (1,900m)
Director: Henrik Georgsson, others
Cast: Sofia Helin, Rafael Pettersson, Sarah Boberg, Dag Malmberg, Kim Bodnia, Thure Lindhardt
Synopsis:
Criminal cases involving the Øresund bridge call for cooperation between Danish and Swedish police, and the Danish force plays host to the tireless internship of the autistic Saga, an unattached Swedish detective.
Review:
After The Killing, another Scandi female detective, with a similarly limited approach to personal wardrobe, hit our TV screens with its pseudo-profound signature song. Like Engrenages, the long-running French equivalent, the murders are particularly unpleasant and the plots just as topical. She also has an opposite number, needless to say, on the Danish side, yielding satisfying interpersonal drama.
