Hilarious, deliciously tacky satire, which engineers some clever swipes against easy Hollywood targets but also takes its crusading auteurs none too seriously. The script is littered with smug references for the movie mad and Waters's trademark bad taste is preserved intact despite the budget hike. Shades of the Patty Hearst episode in the plot and casting (Hearst herself plays the mother of one of the gang).
