Chamber of Horrors (1966)
Country: US
Technical: Technicolor 99m
Director: Hy Averback
Cast: Patrick O'Neal, Cesare Danova, Wilfrid Hyde-White
Synopsis:
A deranged man escapes hanging and then goes after those he considers responsible for the loss of his hand.
Review:
The gimmick in this Warners serial chiller is that O'Neal's character, who is motivated in a similar way to Price's in House of Wax, uses a variety of attachments for his prosthetic hand in order to dispatch his victims. Cinemagoers also benefited, if such is the word, from a 'Fear Flash' and 'Horror Horn' at key moments, rather as in William Castle's infamous contrivances earlier in the decade.
