Coming to America (1988)
Country: US
Technical: col 116m
Director: John Landis
Cast: Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall (in several roles apiece), James Earl Jones
Synopsis:
An African prince travels to New York City in search of a wife he can respect for her mind and free will.
Review:
Another dose of John Landis's increasingly tired concoction of sexist images and hip dialogue, in which the one inspired moment, when Murphy gives charity to the impoverished brokers of Trading Places, looks back to happier times. The film also suffers from comparison with Crocodile Dundee, with which it shares a number of situations.
