Dans Paris (2006)
(Inside Paris)
Country: FR/PORT
Technical: col 94m
Director: Christophe Honoré
Cast: Romain Duris, Louis Garrel, Guy Marchand, Marie-France Pisier
Synopsis:
Two feckless brothers in a Parisian apartment with their separated Dad: one is near-suicidal after a breakup, the other pursues flings with various innocents that cross his path. Mum drops in for Christmas bouillon and later one of the girlfriends shows up.
Review:
The spirit of the Nouvelle Vague pervades this whimsical, disjointed 'day in the lives' of some not so very attractive characters; they even break into song at one point. In fact it all works without seeming to strain for any of its effects, and it's equally down to its talented cast and director.
