Dark Water (2002)

£0.00

Country: JAP
Technical: col 101m
Director: Hideo Nakata
Cast: Hitomi Kuroki, Rio Kanno, Mirei Oguchi

Synopsis:

A mother going through a difficult custody battle for her daughter moves into a flat which, it soon becomes clear, is prey to water dripping from the floor above. She becomes convinced the building is haunted by the ghost of a neglected schoolgirl, who disappeared the year before and comes to claim her in place of her real mother.

Review:

More water and lank hair from the director of the Ring films. This one has plenty of effective moments and also knows just how much to show and how far to push the horror button. The mother-daughter relationship is very affecting, though the film doesn't quite have the chill of the earlier films.
