Derailed (2005)

£0.00

Country: US/GB
Technical: col/scope 112m
Director: Mikael Håfstrom
Cast: Clive Owen, Vincent Cassel, Jennifer Aniston

Synopsis:

As he torments over how to save up enough money to pay for his daughter's expensive treatment, an advertising copywriter gets himself into an affair and then into a blackmail situation calculated to part him from the tidy sum he and his wife have already set aside.

Review:

That he ultimately manages to turn the tables on his antagonist is but one of the staggeringly predictable and unbelievable irritations of this routine thriller. The cast seem singularly uninspired, Owens sleepwalking through it with that blank stare he normally reserves for Mike Hodges films, and Cassel overacting horrendously. The most interesting character is an office drone with a criminal background who gets killed halfway through.
