Desperado (1995)
Country: US
Technical: col 105m
Director: Robert Rodriguez
Cast: Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Steve Buscemi, Quentin Tarantino
Synopsis:
A guitarist turned gunslinger seeks revenge for his murdered woman, and comes head to head with drug-smuggling gangsters.
Review:
A sort of big-budget El Mariachi, though the story is different and it is much more self-aware. The cameos are good, the violence choreographed very much in the John Woo vein, so that it doesn't really tell, and the stars do their sultry utmost to make it all look chic. Entertaining if you like spaghetti westerns, which it resembles.
