Disclosure (1994)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 127m
Director: Barry Levinson
Cast: Michael Douglas, Demi Moore, Donald Sutherland
Synopsis:
An employee of a computer firm is lured into a compromising position with a female superior and former partner, and finds himself having to defend himself against charges of sexual harassment at work.
Review:
Hell hath no fury etc. and this half decent thriller has a lot of fun providing a contemporary context for that well worn proverb. Douglas reprises his familiar role of victim of female predatoriness, but is rather less to blame on this occasion, while Demi Moore's character attracts all the opprobrium. The film was thus accused of being reactionary to advances in women's equality in the work place, and the poster art appearing on subway walls and so forth equally caused a stir for its overt eroticism. However, Levinson marshals it all pretty well and, so long as you do not take it too seriously, the film has undoubted entertainment value.
