Synopsis:
Dr. Dolittle ministers to the animals in an idyllic English village but is put away for liberating a seal. Rescued by his friends he goes off in search of the Great Pink Sea Snail.

Hardly surprisingly such an incoherent synopsis does not reflect a coherent screen narrative, added to which the production was far from untroubled. The fact that the results made it to the Academy short list for the year says much for Hollywood's scale of values, but then these were divided times.
