Dodge City (1939)
Country: US
Technical: col 104m
Director: Michael Curtiz
Cast: Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, Ann Sheridan
Synopsis:
A railroad man accepts the challenge of being Marshal of wide open Dodge City, but his love for the sister of a man he once shot complicates his life further.
Review:
Immaculately produced Warner Brothers western, more of a star vehicle than a genre piece exactly. The classical structure of the action and conformity of the characterisations make it poorly memorable, even as it is smooth and often beautiful to watch. There is a particularly spectacular bar-room brawl and care, attention and expense are written everywhere.
