Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965)
Country: GB/US
Technical: Techniscope 83m
Director: Gordon Flemyng
Cast: Peter Cushing, Roy Castle, Jennie Linden
Synopsis:
The Doctor and his companions journey through time and space to Skaro, planet of the Daleks, where they become implicated in the struggle for planetary domination between the Daleks and their antagonists, the Thals.
Review:
Film version of the TV series of the same name, but without William Hartnell because American audiences would not know him. Obviously the budget is bigger, with colour and widescreen, but the cheerful serial format transfers less well to an overarching narrative format.
