Dracula (1931)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 84m
Director: Tod Browning
Cast: Bela Lugosi, Helen Chandler, David Manners, Dwight Frye

Synopsis:

A notary's assistant travels to Transylvania to do business with an aristocrat wishing to emigrate to England...

Review:

Dusty, hammy classic of American horror films; little to make the flesh creep now of course, least of all the histrionics of Bela Lugosi and Dwight Frye as Renfield, but still atmospheric. There are, however, gaps in the narrative which are inexcusable and are due either to excessive delicacy or a reliance on the film's 'effects'.
