Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 92m
Director: Freddie Francis
Cast: Christopher Lee, Rupert Davies, Veronica Carlson

Synopsis:

A Monsignor performs rites of exorcism on the ruins of Dracula's castle, destroyed at the end of Dracula Prince of Darkness. An accident rouses the Count from his slumbers, and he follows the holy man home to prey on his beautiful niece and her friends.

Review:

Francis takes over the Dracula reins at Hammer, but there is no appreciable 'auteurism' in evidence there. The studio also launched Miss Carlson, latest in a line of Ursula Andress lookalikes, the corollary of which is that the 'sex' element is more blatant, less repressed. One or two atmospheric sequences apart, this is another pedestrian effort.
