Synopsis:
A history teacher who lectures his students on state control over individual expression, but is unable to maintain a functioning relationship with his girlfriend, sees his double in a film and attempts to make contact. Obscure, Kafkaësque fable, which seems to be about what makes us unique as individuals but then proceeds to pull the rug from under our feet. Toronto, shrouded in perpetual smog, provides a dystopian backdrop to the mounting alienation, where the female characters are possessed of superior 'sight' or intelligence. Events glimpsed inside a closed room, and a mysterious key, put us in the realm of Arthur Schnitzler, or David Lynch, and Bensi/Jurriaans' extraterrestrial soundtrack of bass creaks and growls completes the impression of a waking dream.
