An epic tale spanning more than twenty-five years, Slick's series takes us from Indian massacres to the Wild West show but is rather about life under the stars when the west was really wild, and how two wandering souls from different cultures find truth in each other. Each episode plays around with chronology and expectations like a Quentin Tarantino script with heart, and the direction and staging are unerring. Here was a TV production truly worthy of the big screen.
