Film Johnny (1914)
(A Film Johnnie)
Country: US
Technical: bw 11m
Director: George Nichols
Cast: Charles Chaplin, Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, Peggy Pearce, Mabel Normand, Ford Sterling
Synopsis:
A cantankerous drunk visits a nickelodeon, from where he is ejected, so he decides to invade the Keystone movie studios and wreaks havoc on the set.
Review:
A very early film at Keystone, in which we see with interest a different Chaplin character, one less sympathetic. The gags (misplaced swipes and reverences) are routine but polished enough, though we end at low ebb with a firemen's hose.
