The Falcon in Hollywood (1944)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 67m
Director: Gordon Douglas
Cast: Tom Conway, Barbara Hale

Synopsis:

The sleuth investigates the murder of a Hollywood actor at the studio.

Review:

RKO take their Saint lookalike home, as did Universal a year later to Abbott and Costello, and this is a routine addition to the series of second features, in which Conway delivers crisply but without the charisma of his brother (George Sanders), and the pictures were as unexcitingly presented as they were speedily put together. An uncommon number of comely females flock around our hero as if he were 007, among whom a taxi driver-cum-self-appointed sidekick played by Veda Ann Borg, a mouthy blonde with a nice figure; Sheldon Leonard puts in another of his tough wap portrayals.
