The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: Technicolor/2.35:1 104m
Director: Justin Lin
Cast: Lucas Black, Nathalie Kelley, Shad Moss, Brian Tee, Sung Kang

Synopsis:

White trash boy racer gets deported to live with his father in Japan, but before long he is mixed up with the girlfriend of the local crime lord's ne'er-do-well son, and is back to his old tricks.

Review:

Apart from its title and stock in trade, this potboiler had little to do with the two previous titles in the hesitant franchise. Racing through downtown Tokyo is evidently no problem because the police cars cannot hope to keep up, but who looks for realism when approaching this type of material? Note: the drifting of the title is the practice of taking corners on the brakes and letting the rear axle skate across the road surface, though without going off the road altogether.
