Overlong, somewhat portentous remake of Rex Ingram's silent classic, one of those 60s follies when the studios were not sure of what would work. Some of it does, and it appeals for its very audaciousness, the shots of the four horsemen arrayed across the cinemascope frame having a certain grandeur to them.
