Hello, Bookstore (2022)
Country: US
Technical: col 86m
Director: A. B. Zax
Cast: doc.
Synopsis:
The story of Matthew Tannenbaum, his passion for books, and his struggle to keep the bookstore alive during the Covid pandemic.
Review:
A beguiling portrait of an engaging personality, this is less than gripping as entertainment. Repetitive, and padded out with numerous photo shots of the shop, and others of not so explicable provenance, it struggles to sustain interest over a modest running time. It also contains many exchanges with customers which are only half audible due to mask wearing and social distancing, as if camera positioning were similarly dictated.
