Synopsis:

Review:
A sort of Taming of the Shrew situation is set up early on in this typically coy turn-of-the-century sex comedy (cf. Amélie, Angel-a, Love Me If You Dare). There is something very conservative about a film where the man proves his worth by squeezing his sugar-mommy for more than his rival, even if he is patently not as good at it and offers to give it all back in the end (he doesn't have to). The screenplay offers the prospect of true love, provided life isn't too uncomfortable in the meantime; if it didn't, the characterisation of the girl would defy credibility. But that makes it a non too controversial or original offering for a film that purports to broaden its star's repertoire somewhat.
