The Highwaymen (2019)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.39:1 132m
Director: John Lee Hancock
Cast: Kevin Costner, Woody Harrelson, John Carroll Lynch, Kathy Bates

Synopsis:

Two former Texas Rangers track down the Barrow gang in 1934 America.

Review:

Despite the state governor's misgivings and the omni-jurisdictional presence of the FBI, this manhunt narrative is relatively short of plot for its substantial length. However, the stars make for satisfying travelling companions in what is essentially a western in all but name, there are at least two set-piece speeches along U.S.S. Indianapolis lines, and the decision to hold a veil over the figures of Bonnie and Clyde is an effective and necessary distancing effect for this egregious reversal of a genre classic.
