Inferno (1980)
Country: IT
Technical: col 107m
Director: Dario Argento
Cast: Leigh McCloskey, Irene Miracle, Sacha Pitoëff, Alida Valli
Synopsis:
A brother and sister investigate murders in twin locations in Rome and New York, apparently the work of a witches' coven.
Review:
Flamboyant, stylish, energetic horror in the director's grandiose style, with lashings of music including the slaves' chorus from Nabucco on electric guitar and a rock incantation based on the Latin names of the three 'maters'. It doesn't make much sense but features an eerie underwater sequence in a flooded building and Death played by a woman.
