Letter to Brezhnev (1985)
Country: GB
Technical: col 95m
Director: Chris Bernard
Cast: Alfred Molina, Peter Firth, Margi Clarke
Synopsis:
Two Soviet sailors linger in Liverpool and smooch a pair of Scouse lassies.
Review:
On the Town for the 80s, with offputting regional accents, though things pick up as soon as the Ivans arrive on the scene. An oddly old-fashioned tale, and typical of the televisual feel of many British pictures at the time; only a few years later and they would surely have cast Slavs as the two tars.
