Probably the Godard film which most resembles a conventionally sleek production. This is, however, purely a virtue of its subject matter. More deeply it is an attempt to reason the arbitrariness of human relationships, and an ironic look at Man's wish to have art explain them. The Godard giveaway is a central apartment scene which goes on far too long.
