(Les Milles)
Country: FR
Technical: col 103m
Director: Sébastien Grall
Cast: Jean-Pierre Marielle, Ticky Holgado, Philippe Noiret, Kristin Scott Thomas, Rüdiger Vogler
Synopsis:
Just before the French surrender in 1940, German nationals, many of them Jewish, who have been interned since the outbreak of hostilities are about to be abandoned to their fate at the hands of the advancing Nazi forces. However, an honourable and asthmatic French colonel ignores his apathetic superiors in Marseilles and commandeers a train to take them to safety.
Review:
A French attempt to cash in on the success of Schindler's List, one supposes, but not bad for all that thanks to an interesting cast.
