A heterogeneous group of friends, writers and publishers, separate for the summer, the women remaining in Paris, and the men taking the children to the Île de Ré pending their eventual reunion there.
Review:
Belonging to a special breed of French film ('Les marmottes', 'Les petits mouchoirs') that one might call 'films vacanciers', more or less talky, and featuring a certain amount of bed-hopping, this is a particularly crazy exemplar. Overpopulated with imbroglios among all age groups, its bustling mise-en-scène makes it hard to follow, but it is wittily written, and one does at least gain the impression of spending time with real people. Whether these balding men would find themselves quite such nubile playmates is a moot question, but that's 80s France for you. A ten year-old Ludivine Sagnier makes her performing debut as Élodie (clearly supposed to be younger).
