Megamind (2010)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 95m
Director: Tom McGrath
Cast: Voice cast: Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill

Synopsis:

A superbeing arrives on Earth at the same time as his far more handsome and plausible counterpart, and grows up determined to become an evil mastermind, locked in a cosmically balanced and eternal struggle to overcome his competitor, Metroman. However, when he falls in love with his 'Lois Lane' victim, he discovers that happiness in evil does not necessarily lie.

Review:

This amusing parody of superhero movies did not stem the continuing flow of same from Hollywood, but was a welcome shot of subversiveness all the same. And what better form to convey the impossible powers of flight and destruction, even if Man of Steel would prove that a distinction between live action and animation was no longer relevant? Indeed, the skin tones and palpable quality of the Dreamworks team's human figures reached a new standard in verisimilitude. General audiences may find it faintly less droll than it intends to be, but it's a fun ride for ten year-olds of all ages.
