Missing (1982)
Country: US/MEX
Technical: col 122m
Director: Costa-Gavras
Cast: Jack Lemmon, Sissy Spacek, John Shea
Synopsis:
An American father and his daughter-in-law travel to Chile in 1973 to try and locate his son, an activist and writer.
Review:
Bleak and unfashionable (in the Reagan era), but conformant with the director's impeccable career in the political exposé/thriller, this features a memorable dramatic portrayal from Lemmon. However, both performances are equally fine, tracing the fractious progress of their relationship from heated differences of opinion over the 'how' to mutual support over the 'what'.
