Synopsis:
Living with her parents on an island off the Illyrian coast, a teenage girl begins to resent her father's autocratic ways but nevertheless joins him on morning dives hunting for murina (a kind of eel). Then an old business associate arrives to whom the father wishes to sell his land to build a resort, and both mother and daughter are seduced by his easy charm.

Simmering away with all manner of dangerous undercurrents and adolescent passions, this first feature by the multi-talented director positively seethes with the threat of sudden disaster and ends on a note of rebellion that could be self-destructive. Filipovic does a superb job of sustaining the majority of our attention as the daughter for whom the boorish ways of the Balkan macho are no longer good enough.
