The Man with the Iron Fists (2012)

£0.00

Country: US/HK
Technical: col/bw/2.35:1 95m
Director: RZA
Cast: RZA, Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Rick Yune, Byron Mann

Synopsis:

An emancipated black slave finds his way to China and works as a blacksmith in a village torn apart by competing wars. When the governor entrusts his gold to the most powerful group for safe passage (most unwise), there is soon treachery afoot, but a British secret agent arrives at the local brothel in time to save the day. Well, almost.

Review:

A film with the names of Tarantino and Eli Roth also written over it, and yes, an oriental Inglourious Basterds it sort of is, even down to the slaying of its beautiful women and the maiming of others. Crowe, as a proxy Brad Pitt, sleepwalks his way through it, not even bothering to lose weight or cut his hair for the role, but he is the sole amusement to be had from this empty chop-slicy gore fest.
