The Mountain Between Us (2017)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 112m
Director: Hany Abu-Assad
Cast: Idris Elba, Kate Winslet, Beau Bridges, Dermot Mulroney (continuing his gallery of dispossessed 'other guys')

Synopsis:

A photo-journalist about to get married and a neuro-surgeon in crisis charter a light aircraft when their flight is grounded, and crashland on a mountain in the Rockies.

Review:

An extraordinarily old-fashioned enterprise, and one which does not quite convince because of some of its writing and its failure to adopt a consistently realistic register. The actors look somewhat uncomfortable at times, and its not because of the low temperatures, except perhaps those between their characters. The film-makers do accomplish one feat: they achieve the impression of time passing slowly.
