Never Say Never Again (1983)

£0.00

Country: US/GB/GER
Technical: col/scope 134m
Director: Irvin Kershner
Cast: Sean Connery, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Max Von Sydow, Barbara Carrera, Kim Basinger

Synopsis:

An agent of SPECTRE named Largo steals two nuclear warheads from a downed British plane, and Bond must find them and prevent them from being fired at their targets.

Review:

An effective remake of Thunderball, thanks to a legal loophole in the rights to the Fleming books, led to this afterthought in Connery's career as the MI6 agent, making his twenty-one year run hard to beat, even if his seven films might one day be. Thanks to his self-assurance in the role, and Brandauer's prowess, the film is an enjoyable romp but nowhere near on a par with the original.
