Norma Rae (1979)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 114m
Director: Martin Ritt
Cast: Sally Field, Beau Bridges, Ron Leibman
Synopsis:
A single mother working in a mill comes under pressure from her co-workers to organize them into a union. In spite of the risks and unpleasantness involved for her, she agrees.
Review:
The director again goes down the route of worker-employer relations, and again he produces a worthy, but hardgoing piece of drama. The difference here, at least, is that the outcome is reasonably upbeat, and it gave Fields a breakthrough role in which she excels.
