Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 125m
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Cast: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Elliott Gould, Don Cheadle, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Vincent Cassel, Julia Roberts
Synopsis:
The eleven men responsible for robbing the Bellagio casino in Ocean's Eleven are sold out to the injured party by a master-thief who dubs himself the Night Fox. In exchange he wants the chance to prove himself the better thief.
Review:
A lazy sequel, which brings some love interest for Rusty (Pitt) in the shapely form of a Europol detective (Zeta-Jones), but does not even bring off a bona fide heist sequence (in fact, the group steal nothing so much as a hold-all on a train - in flashback - and a few paintings - off screen.) Meanwhile Soderbergh brings on his guest stars and sidles through the entire New Wave songbook of jump-cuts and freeze-frames, while omitting to capitalise on the charisma of his two leads.
