Ooh, You Are Awful (1972)
(Get Charlie Tully)
Country: GB
Technical: col 97m
Director: Cliff Owen
Cast: Dick Emery, Ronald Fraser, Derren Nesbitt
Synopsis:
Two East-End wide boys steal half a million from some rich Italians when one of them is jailed for a minor con. No sooner is he released, than his partner is killed by the gangster boyfriend of one of his many conquests, and the number of the Swiss bank account is tattooed on the behinds of four others. To make matters worse, there is a Mafia contract out on him for the money.
Review:
Naturally there is opportunity for the star to disguise himself as one of the many personages making up his TV act, whether photographing the girls' bottoms or evading his pursuers. This was typical British fare for the first half of the decade: prurient, musichall derived TV entertainment spiced up for the big screen. Painful to relate, it was one of the better efforts. The alternative title was of course a reference to the previous year's Get Carter.
