Phantasm II (1988)
Country: US
Technical: col 97m
Director: Don Coscarelli
Cast: James Le Gros, Reggie Bannister
Synopsis:
The hero of Phantasm is released from the mental hospital to which his tales of grave-robbing gnomes had condemned him, but continues in his quest to defeat the Tall Man, who preys on the helpless in their sleep.
Review:
A slick, knowing sequel, with no time lost in explanations before the mayhem starts. There is little taste or restraint, but it is at least put together with élan, and a jokey sense of fun (Sam Raimi's name appears on a bag of ashes).
